The Wandering Bee is a family-run small business based in Staffordshire that launched in early 2021. Their mission is to create kick-ass kind candles handcrafted from beer bottles - that are kinder to the planet and better for your health.

"Our wild journey of crafting candles started in our little kitchen. Using the hob, we were pouring just a handful of candles an evening while juggling our other jobs. It was mid-pandemic & orders were flooding in. We didn't have much money to spare, so we had to create our own makeshift machinery to help us keep up with the orders for our beer bottle candles. The Wandering Bee was quickly growing and glowing from strength to strength, and in just five months, Beth was able to quit her job within the NHS and focus on The Wandering Bee full-time. But it was no walk in the park; We had a lot going on at home with our three-year-old, two dogs, and three cats under our feet. So we decided to bite the bullet and relocate to a more spacious spot.

We moved The Wandering Bee from our humble abode to a much bigger warehouse space, situated at the World of Wedgwood. From there, we opened up shop down Adies Alley in Stone. Here, we work our magic, transforming your average beer bottles into sleek candle containers. We carefully hand score, split 'em and grind 'em (now with a little help from some legitimate machinery) and meticulously hand pour 100% soy wax inside, creating a candle with a difference.

Since moving into our physical shop and studio, we've had the chance to collaborate with some amazing people and pursue some exciting ventures left, right, and centre. The Wandering Bee has been sold at John Lewis through Curated Makers, at the Bullring in Birmingham with Design44, and even at Chester Zoo! We've had not one, but two pop-up shops on Oxford Street with the Hellfire Collective, and we're proud to have been stocked and showcased in over 20 stores throughout the UK. Additionally, we won the 'Sustainable Business' award through KLARNA & became one of their promotional brands. We've also had the privilege of teaming up with numerous fantastic brands to bring you several collaborative campaigns. We've even hired three members of staff! (And have had a baby!) So our hive is positively humming. These past three years have been unbelievable, and we're eager to see where our journey takes us next!"
