The Wandering Bee are a small family-run business based in Staffordshire, who launched early 2021 with the mission of creating kick-ass kind candles handcrafted from beer bottles, that are kinder to the planet and better for your health.
we started out in our little kitchen, creating six or seven candles an evening while juggling our other jobs. With not much money to spare, we created our own makeshift machinery to help us produce more of our beer bottle candles. The Wandering Bee was quickly growing and glowing from strength to strength. After many months of having a three year old, two dogs and three cats under our feet at home, it was time to move our small business into its own space.
we feel extremely proud to be able to say that we moved TWB from our home to a warehouse based at the World of Wedgwood and from there into our own shop down Adies Alley in Stone. From this new space we take your average beer bottle, lovingly hand score, split and grind down (now using legitimate machinery) to create your candle container. We then carefully hand pour 100% soy wax inside, creating a candle with a difference.
by moving into this larger shop and studio space, we have been able to explore new opportunities and work with some incredible people. The Wandering Bee has been sold in John Lewis with the Curated Makers, at Chester Zoo in the House of Sumatra, we've had two popup shops on Oxford Street with the Hellfire Collective, we've become stockists in several stores across the UK, we've been able to collaborate with many amazing companies and hire our first member of staff. The first year of running this small business has been incredible and we can’t wait to see where we go from here!
